If Obama Wins Pennsylvania, Clinton Must Yield
The feud between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton is starting to worry a lot of people and it has recently led several of them (mostly supporters of the Illinois Senator) to demand Senator Clinton to end her campaign. As it stands now, she is unlikely to capture the Democratic nomination and the Pennsylvania primary won’t change much even if she does win it by a large margin. The reason why this bitter fight is troublesome is that it hurts the party’s chances to win the general election. In the meantime, Senator John McCain has had every chance to focus on November rather than the primary season and the latest polls show that he’s putting up a fight regardless of which Democratic candidate faces him in November.
Mr. McCain’s latest ad (shown in the YouTube clip) shows him as a person ready to take on the mantle as the Republican candidate for President. There’s references to his grandfather and father who were both admirals, and also to the family as a concept (which I’m sure is a nod to the religious right). It’s an effective ad and the Democratic candidates had better watch it. While they’re still arguing about who is best suited to lead the nation, Senator McCain has the fortune to rise above petty squabbling and depict himself as the only serious candidate.
It is time soon to end this nonsense. If Senator Obama wins Pennsylvania, there is no reason for Senator Clinton to remain in the race.
