Top Five Bond Girls
A few weeks ago I posted my five favorite Bond songs. Time to turn this into a series – here are my five favorite Bond girls.
- 1. Barbara Bach – She may not have been the best actress, but Bach was very effective as the sexy and highly unreliable Soviet agent Anya Amasova in The Spy Who Loved Me. She and Roger Moore had great rapport together.
- 2. Honor Blackman – As Pussy Galore in Goldfinger, Blackman had the most indecent name a Bond girl ever had, but they did get away with it. She was the villain’s assistant who was sexually persuaded by Bond to switch sides. That’s how you fight crime.
- 3. Ursula Andress – The very first Bond girl came from the sea wearing a bikini and a knife, singing “Underneath the Mango Tree”. How could you resist Honey Ryder? The clip is from Dr. No.
- 4. Diana Rigg – She was the countess who married Bond and was subsequently murdered by Blofeld in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Her name? Tracy Draco.
- 5. Michelle Yeoh – Yeoh had the obligatory silly Bond girl name (Wai Lin) and followed the tradition of several other Bond girls who knew how to take care of themselves; Wai Lin kicked butt quite skillfully. She appeared in Tomorrow Never Dies.
