Top Five Bond Villains

After the best Bond songs, Bond girls and worst Bond ingredients, the time has come to introduce the five best villains.

1. Ernst Stavrou Blofeld (Donald Pleasance, Telly Savalas, Charles Gray) – The man behind SPECTRE appeared in several Bond films, always played by different actors but in the same style. Usually bald (except for Gray), donning something that looks like Mao’s old uniform, sitting in a large chair, petting his cat, while planning to extort the U.N. He was responsible for many of Bond’s woes (including the murder of his wife) and was subsequently killed by the agent who dropped him down a large chimney from a helicopter in For Your Eyes Only. Pleasance gave the most memorable interpretation.

2. Jaws (Richard Kiel) – The giant with the steel teeth was introduced in The Spy Who Loved Me and became such a hit that he made another appearance in Moonraker. He was a worthy opponent for Bond when it came to sheer manpower; it was his lack of brains that always defeated him. In the second film, he found love and abandoned his career of crime.

3. Oddjob (Harold Sakata) – It wasn’t Goldfinger himself who made *“Goldfinger”:http://www.moviehamlet.com/review/454/goldfinger-knocking-out-fort-knox memorable, but his mute manservant. The Korean Oddjob was always close to his master, ready to chop the head off of any enemy with his steel-brimmed hat.

4. Rosa Klebb (Lotte Lenya) – In the world of James Bond (at least before Pierce Brosnan shouldered the responsibility) women were either sex kittens or villains. Lotte Lenya was perfect as the unattractive and dangerous KGB agent Rosa Klebb in From Russia With Love you don’t want her to kick you with those shoes.

5. Francisco Scaramanga (Christopher Lee) – Sooner or later the man who played Dracula would have to sink his teeth into the part of a Bond villain. Lee was quite chilling as the world’s number one assassin, the man with the golden gun. Since he was a Bond villain he needed some sort of physical defect, which is why Scaramanga has three nipples.
