The Shining Recreated

You gotta love true dedication. This promo was shot for Channel 4, which is starting its Stanley Kubrick season on July 15. The viewers are taken through the set of The Shining, with the camera capturing all kinds of sights and sounds from the film until it reaches that famous corridor with THAT carpet. There, Kubrick stands ready to film Danny as he takes his tricycle for a ride. The promo is so skillfully made that it’s easy to make the mistake of thinking that it’s real. But it isn’t; everything in it has been recreated to make it look like we’re on the real set. Some of the equipment we see was actually used in the making of The Shining. That’s how ambitious this clip is. Take a look.
