Watching (And Listening to) Body Double
I watched Brian De Palma’s Body Double (1984) a week ago and will publish the review next week. Not a terribly good film… but the strange thing is that it has stayed with me ever since, not least because of Pino Donaggio’s music, including this haunting ’80s-style theme that is played whenever Craig Wasson (who looks just like Bill Maher) is peeping on his neighbor in the film. I’m not sure what it is about the sequences or the music… but I can’t quite put it out of my head. It should be noted that this is the music that appears in the movie; the theme on the soundtrack album is apparently a different version.
