Wish It Would Happen: The Weird Al Biopic

I grew up loving Weird Al Yankovic’s parodies of music videos. Well, who didn’t? A few days ago, FunnyOrDie.com posted this fake trailer for an upcoming biopic on Weird Al’s life. Featuring Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul as Yankovic, it shows hilarious glimpses from the comedian’s life. The clip has Gary Cole in an Oscar-deserving performance as Weird Al’s father who disapproves of his son’s career choice but finally relents, and Olivia Wilde as Madonna whom Al apparently has a fling with. Love the sequence where they’re breaking up and Madonna can’t help but strike a final dramatic, Madonna-ish pose. Now, why is this movie not happening for real? The last and best touch of course is the use of James Horner’s score for Legends of the Fall, a classic mainstay of many trailers.
