The End of Lost – Have a Sense of Humor
It’s been a few weeks since Lost ended and I’ve finally gotten around to watching the last episodes. Alright, alright, don’t get upset about it – Lost never was my favorite show and considering the divisive debates raging after the last episode it shouldn’t hurt to wait a while before diving into the end. I kind of liked the finale. Agreed, it did turn the whole show into one big shaggy dog joke, but we needed that emotional goodbye to characters we spent six years of our lives with. Besides, what else could the show have been about but life and death, heaven and purgatory? As for all those fans who’ve spent far too much time delving into “Lostpedia” and other forms of “Star Trek”-like masturbation, and now realize that the show wasn’t what they expected, you have my sympathies but you should have known from the start that it wasn’t worth your fanatical dedication.
The clip above shows an alternative interpretation of the last episode, as presented by Jimmy Kimmel. Entertainment Weekly writer Michael Ausiello also found a pretty funny animated spoof of Lost; watch it here. I guess Jeff Fahey will be pleased to see his character take such a critical role in a MacGruber-inspired take on Lapidus (“thoughtWidmoreusedtobeimportant – LAPIDUS!”).
