Do you have a taste for terror?
Charley Brewster (William Ragsdale) has managed to talk himself into believing that there are no vampires, but then the sister of the vampire he and Peter Vincent (Roddy McDowall) killed in the first movie arrives in town. This sequel lacks the freshness of the original and is much too slow; the filmmakers are unable to build their story in a funny and scary way. It’s a little hard to fear vampires that look like 1980s fashion models and behave like clowns. There are plenty of visual effects, but they’re not always first-rate.
1989-U.S. 105 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Tommy Lee Wallace. Cast: Roddy McDowall (Peter Vincent), William Ragsdale (Charley Brewster), Traci Lin (Alex), Julie Carmen (Regine Dandrige), Jonathan Gries, Russell Clark.
