A film about love, marriage, happiness… and the little distractions in between.
Mick (Burns) meets a woman and marries her at the same time as his brother (McGlone) is cheating on his wife with Mick’s ex-girlfriend. Director Burns followed up on his critically acclaimed The Brothers McMullen (1995) with another movie about brothers and their relationships with women. No surprises here and hardly profound, but Mr. Burns paces it well and picks actors who make these intrigues fun to follow; results are charming. Mr. Mahoney may have a different set of sons here than on Frasier, but is just as entertaining.
1996-U.S. 95 min. Color. Produced by Ted Hope, James Schamus, Edward Burns. Written and directed by Edward Burns. Songs: Tom Petty. Cast: Edward Burns (Mick Fitzpatrick), Jennifer Aniston (Renee Fitzpatrick), Cameron Diaz (Heather Davis), John Mahoney, Maxine Bahns, Mike McGlone.
