The world’s most explosive action star fights for America for the first time.
CIA agent Chan is trying to locate a stolen nuclear warhead in the Ukraine; the Russian Mafia is interested in acquiring it. Known as Police Story 4 in Hong Kong, it is an attempt to give Mr. Chan a wider appeal in the U.S. The James Bond movies must have been a source of inspiration; there’s exotic locales and a good sense of humor. Jackie is in shape; we get to see him on stilts, and he sure knows how to swing a ladder. The story between the fights is useless, of course.
1996-Hong Kong. 85 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Stanley Tong. Cast: Jackie Chan (Jackie), Chen Chun Wa (Annie Tsui), Jackson Lou (Tsui), Bill Tung, Jouri Petrov.
Trivia: Original title: Ging chaat goo si 4: Ji gaan daan yam mo. Also available in a 110 min. long version.
