Galaxy Quest

The show was canceled… but the adventure has only begun.

A group of actors, who once starred on a Star Trek-type TV show, are contacted by real aliens who thought they were watching a documentary and now need the “space travelers’” help against a powerful enemy. A great idea for a movie is at the center of this affectionate spoof. It examines what the “reality” behind a cult phenomenon like Star Trek can look like, with disillusioned actors and obsessive fans. Tim Allen is fun as the William Shatner type, Alan Rickman excellent as the sarcastic “Spock” character and Sigourney Weaver’s ample blonde is also enjoyable. The special effects make the movie more than just funny, almost thrilling.
