The Bucket List
When he closed his eyes, his heart was open.
Edward Cole (Jack Nicholson), a grumpy billionaire, is diagnosed with terminal cancer and reluctantly makes friends with his roommate at the hospital (Morgan Freeman); the two men eventually decide to make the best out of their remaining time. Another bland movie from director Rob Reiner. It starts out promisingly, ends emotionally (not least because it is so easy to like the magnetic stars), but most of the stuff in between is silly and shallow. One problem with Freeman’s character is that he’s so darn noble it renders him unbelievable.
