Would you put your eggs… in this basket?

At the age of 37, businesswoman Kate Holbrook (Tina Fey) decides that she wants a baby; unable to conceive on her own she enlists help from a surrogate mother (Amy Poehler) who turns out to be her exact opposite. Another typical Saturday Night Live feature, directed by one of the show’s writers and starring two of its performers. Unlike many others of its kind, the film deals with grown-up issues and is an amusing, endearing experience (with a clear formula) chock-full of TV sitcom jokes but never as funny as one would hope. The two stars and the supporting cast carry the film when the script doesn’t.
