Beverly Hills Cop III

In for the ride of his life.

When Axel Foley’s (Eddie Murphy) boss is murdered in Detroit, he goes back to Beverly Hills to bring the killer, a security head for an amusement park, to justice. A decade after the first movie came the third one and not much has changed – except that the story is even more ludicrous and that Murphy has lost some of his mojo as Axel Foley. Nice to see Bronson Pinchot as Serge again (although his appearance feels rather contrived) and the film is fun up to a point. However, the shootouts are ridiculously over the top.

1994-U.S. 100 min. Color. Directed by John Landis. Cast: Eddie Murphy (Axel Foley), Judge Reinhold (Billy Rosewood), Hector Elizondo (John Flint), Theresa Randle, Bronson Pinchot, Timothy Carhart… Al Green. Cameos: George Lucas, Joe Dante, Martha Coolidge, Arthur Hiller, Ray Harryhausen, Barbet Schroeder, John Singleton.
