Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan
New York has a new problem.
Jason (Kane Hodder) suddenly finds himself on a luxury cruise ship where a high school class is celebrating their graduation and gets busy chopping people up. The last film of the original series introduced the killer to new environs, even landing him in New York City in the end, but ignored logic in astounding ways (apparently you can sail to Manhattan from Crystal Lake). A few amusing jokes, but no tension and the killings are either laughable or boring.
1989-U.S.100 min. Color. Directed by Rob Hedden. Cast: Jensen Daggett (Rennie Wickham), Kane Hodder (Jason Vorhees), Peter Mark Richman (Charles McCulloch), Scott Reeves, Barbara Bingham, V.C. Dupree.
Trivia: Followed by Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993).
