The Girl Who Played With Fire
Lisbeth Salander (Noomi Rapace) returns to Sweden after one year abroad and immediately becomes a suspect in a murder investigation involving three victims; Mikael Blomkvist (Michael Nyqvist) tries to help her clear her name. The second chapter in the “Millennium” trilogy has a simpler story than The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, although the outlines of a major conspiracy is discovered, one that won’t be resolved until the third part. Director Daniel Alfredson and his team have made the right decisions in transferring the novel to the screen, delivering an engaging albeit unspectacular movie with a suitable amount of thrills.

The first film will be released theatrically this March in the U.S., Britain and Australia. Whether or not the other two will be shown in cinemas or go straight to DVD depends on how well the first one does, I suppose.
