As we’ve learned over the past weeks, Nicolas Cage has not been taking care of his finances and has lost millions of dollars. With that in mind, no one should be surprised to see that his next movie, Season of the Witch (U.S. premiere on March 19, 2010), looks like a medieval action/horror-thriller that will only appeal to teen boys, a group that very well might help him regain some of his wealth. So what if the fresh trailer is full of incomprehensible, poorly lit images of 14th-century characters that attack each other to the tune of Marilyn Manson? It’s a movie about witchcraft and the Plague and that’s about all you need to know. Considering Cage’s and director Dominic Sena’s last, headache-inducing (but commercially successful) effort together, Gone in Sixty Seconds (2000), teens of all ages will line up to fund this relief effort.
