Underworld: Evolution

After the climactic showdown of the first film, Selene and Michael (Kate Beckinsale, Scott Speedman) are on the run, but one of the vampire elders (Tony Curran) is awakened and starts hunting them. Our heroes have another monster to battle, another physical link to those days when their ancestors first clashed. Neither the story, its background nor this dystopian universe are terribly interesting, and Derek Jacobi is less fun than his British predecessors, but the film has gorgeous wintry settings and the action sequences are above average.

2006-U.S. 106 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Len Wiseman. Cast: Kate Beckinsale (Selene), Scott Speedman (Michael Corvin), Tony Curran (Marcus), Derek Jacobi, Bill Nighy, Stephen Mackintosh… Michael Sheen.

Trivia: Lily Mo Sheen, the young daughter of Beckinsale and Sheen, has a small part.
