Ghost Rider
His curse will become his power.
In order to save his terminally ill father, teenage stunt cyclist Johnny Blaze makes a deal with the Devil; years later Satan offers Johnny a new deal to release his soul. Another Marvel creature hits the silver screen, but with mediocre results. Nicolas Cage is not quite right as the jellybean-chewing, pouting hero and his scenes with Eva Mendes as the love interest are more silly than romantic. Always on the verge of becoming too ridiculous, the movie comes alive only when Cage turns into the fiery Ghost Rider and battles Satan’s irritating kid.
2007-U.S. 110 min. Color. Widescreen. Written and directed by Mark Steven Johnson. Cast: Nicolas Cage (Johnny Blaze), Eva Mendes (Roxanne Simpson), Wes Bentley (Blackheart), Sam Elliott, Donal Logue, Matt Long… Peter Fonda.
Trivia: Jon Voight was allegedly considered for a role; Johnny Depp as Ghost Rider.
