Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones

A Jedi shall not know anger. Nor hatred. Nor love.

The second Star Wars movie in the second series brings us ten years into the future after the events in The Phantom Menace (1999). The foundation to Anakin’s fall is laid during his teens when he grows arrogant and opens himself up to the forces of evil. Meanwhile, the democratic Republic is threatened by elements both from within and from the outside. The worst part of the movie is the hopeless romance between Anakin (Hayden Christensen) and Padmé (Natalie Portman) as well as the plastic look of some scenes. The movie is overlong, but there are a few magnificent action sequences and the sight of a lightsaber-wielding Yoda is quite invigorating.
