The third dimension is terror.
When a great white swims into Sea World in Florida the oldest Brody son, Mike (Dennis Quaid), must confront his old fears. All of a sudden the Brody boys are adults in this third part that looks more like a disaster movie than anything else; there’s even a collapsing tunnel. The 3-D effects look really bad on TV and someone forgot to include any real thrills. The cast is better, including Louis Gossett, Jr. in a part that is reminiscent of the mayor in the first two films.
1983-U.S. 95 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Joe Alves. Cast: Dennis Quaid (Mike Brody), Bess Armstrong (Kay Morgan), Simon MacCorkindale (Philip FitzRoyce), Louis Gossett, Jr., John Putch, Lea Thompson.
Trivia: This was allegedly first planned as a spoof to be directed by Joe Dante. Also titled Jaws III. Followed by Jaws the Revenge (1987).
